Our Roshn Saudi League champions have their new manager, with the hugely respected Ange Postecoglou touching down in Riyadh in Saturday night.
The former Australia, Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur head coach has signed a two-year contract with Al Nassr, replacing Jorge Jesus who departed at the end of last season.
Announcing the appointment on Friday, Al Nassr said on their social media accounts: “It’s official: Mr. Ange Postecoglou is the new head coach of @AlNassrFC. He signed a contract for two seasons. Welcome, Gaffer!“
Al Nassr, who in May secured a first RSL trophy in seven years, described Postecoglou’s signing as a “new chapter”, adding: “Our best wishes for success to him and his staff in their journey with the global club, God willing.”
The Greece-born Australian, 60, has significant experience in managing in Asia having taken the Australia national team to the 2014 FIFA World Cup and then masterminding their 2015 Asian Cup title win.
Postecoglou went on the lead Yokohama F. Marinos to the 2019 Japanese J1 League crown, before spending two trophy-laden years in Scotland with Celtic.
Postecoglou also guided Tottenham to success in the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League - the English Premier League Club’s first trophy in 17 years. He most recently managed Nottingham Forest for a brief spell late last year.
Al Nassr will begin their RSL title defence when the 2026-27 season kicks off on August 13.
