The eligibility criteria is as follows: the player must have participated in at least 40 percent of their team's total matches in the season, regardless of playing position or age.

The nominees

Abdulrahman Al Obud

The winger was crucial to Al Ittihad’s title-winning success in the RSL. Despite often featuring off the bench, Al Obud ranks in the top five for goal contributions at the club this campaign. Indeed, his one goal or assist contributed every 80 minutes represents the best for an Al Ittihad player.

Salem Al Dawsari

Al Hilal captain Al Dawsari produced his best season yet in terms of goals scored, with 15 - the highest for any Saudi player in the division. In fact, only Karim Benzema (30) has more goal contributions than Al Dawsari in the entire league (29).

The 34-year-old even celebrated the first hat-trick of his career - against Al Raed in Matchweek 30 - and was not shy of scoring bangers, with two of his goals winning the BSF Goal of the Week award.

Turki Al Ammar

Establishing himself as part of Al Qadsiah’s fearsome attacking quartet, Al Ammar contributed to 20% of his side’s goals this season, with four scored and six assists.

The creative midfielder was often deployed wide on the right, where he was able to create 32 chances, while remaining heavily involved in build-up play with 705 successful passes.

Musab Al Juwayr

After starting the season at Al Hilal where he made two appearances, Al Juwayr was loaned out to neighbours Al Shabab.

It is across Riyadh that he proved an inspired signing, winning six consecutive SPL Young Player of the Month awards, while scoring five and assisting 10 times in 29 further games in the black and white jersey.

The 21-year-old ranks second in the league for chances created from open play (65) and third in passes into the final third (303), embodying the spirit of a classic No.10.

Abdullah Al Salem

A fairytale season for Al Salem with his hometown club Al Khaleej saw the 32-year-old receive his first Saudi Arabia call-up and make his debut off the back of a campaign in which he sits proudly as his team's top scorer, with 10 goals.

The veteran striker also produced four assists. In fact, only Al Hilal's Al Dawsari has netted more goals this season among Saudi players in the RSL.
