Reigning Roshn Saudi League golden boot winner Julian Quinones got on the scoresheet again as Mexico etched their name in the record books at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Al Qadsiah forward, who netted 33 times in last season’s Saudi top flight, grabbed the co-hosts’ second in their 3-0 win against Czechia early on Thursday - his second goal of the tournament.
Quinones had announced his arrival on the world stage in the competition’s opening match, striking the opening goal of the 2026 global finals.

On Thursday, his predatory finish at Estadio Azteca ensured Mexico triumphed in all three of its World Cup group-stage matches for the first time, as Javier Aguirre’s men advanced to the knockouts as the top team in Group A.
Mexico will next face one of the eight best third-placed teams in the last 32 on July 1 - no doubt Quinones will be crucial to their hopes of going deep into the latter stages.
