MW22 Team of the Week: Al Qadsiah, Al Hilal and Al Ahli all offer triple talents!

Koen Casteels - 98

The reigning RSL Goalkeeper of the Season is proving he won’t be giving up his mantle without a fight. Casteels clocked up a sixth clean sheet of the campaign in Al Qadsiah’s 1-0, injury-time victory at home to NEOM Sports Club.

The Belgium No.1 made a superb seven saves during the game and also led the encounter in recoveries (14), as Brendan Rodgers’ side maintain their title challenge.

Hassan Kadesh - 95

The Al Ittihad defender was the hero in his team’s 2-1 win against Al Fayha in Jeddah, netting the winner seven minutes from time - much to the delight of manager Sergio Conceicao.

Kadesh was instrumental throughout, though, contributing a game-high 86 total touches and topping his team for tackles won (two).

Waleed Al Ahmed - 94

With this display, it’s easy to see why Al Qadsiah moved for the then-Al Taawoun defender in the winter transfer window. Al Ahmed shone for his new club in that shutout against NEOM SC, coming on at half-time for Jehad Thikri and then helping keep at bay the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Luciano Rodriguez.

Gaston Alvarez - 90

Making up our defensive trio from Al Qadsiah, the Uruguayan was again brilliant at the back - especially given the defensive rejig at the interval. Alvarez won a joint-best two tackles, while he slotted in seamlessly beside Real Madrid great Nacho once Thikri went off.

Kalidou Koulibaly - 88

What a return to RSL action for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations winner. Koulibaly makes it successive Team of the Weeks thanks to another commanding performance for the league leaders, this time in the 2-0 home victory against in-form Al Ettifaq.

The Senegal centre-back, who last week signed a new contract at Al Hilal, was his usual rock at the back. A fourth clean sheet in 11 appearances this term ensured Simone Inzaghi's men stay top.

Mohammed Kanno - 96

Roaming up ahead of Koulibaly, the Saudi Arabia international starred against Al Ettifaq, his headline act the opener on 13 minutes that set the table-toppers on their way.

Kanno, who debuted in the RSL with Al Ettifaq, offered another all-action display, which included the second-most successful passes for his team (56), while his won more fouls than any colleague (two).

Franck Kessie - 95

A mainstay of this surging Al Ahli, the Ivorian midfielder chipped in with a sublime effort in the seven-goal thriller at Al Shabab. Kessie’s expertly timed run and beautifully dinked finish put the visitors 2-0 up and paved the way for an eventual 5-2 triumph.

Kessie led the match for shots (three) and shots saved (two) as Al Ahli remain well in the title race. Sitting third, they’re three points off the summit.

Salem Al Dawsari - 92

Another week, another place in our best XI for the bona-fide RSL legend. Al Dawsari was once more fantastic in Al Hilal’s win against Al Ettifaq, the club captain netting the second on the night.

The current AFC Asian Player of the Year also contributed a game-high four crosses and five successful dribbles, showing he remains one of the must-watch players in the top flight.

Nawaf Al Habashi - 90

The Al Hazem winger was pivotal to the hosts’ must-needed home win against Al Okhdood, laying on the assist late on for RSL all-time top-scorer Omar Al Somah to seal the points.

Al Habashi's creative spark was evident in his unrivalled five chances created, none more so than the one that teed up his captain for the winner. Check out his amazing skill here.

Ivan Toney - 92

The 2025-26 RSL’s leading scorer consolidated his position at the top of that particular chart with another converted penalty, this time in the massive away victory at Al Shabab.

But that wasn’t all: Toney’s terrific work and pass set up Enzo Millot for Al Ahli’s fourth - his fifth assist of the campaign. What a season the England international is having.

Riyad Mahrez - 91

Joining Toney is club colleague Mahrez, who excelled at Al Shabab, as well. The Algerian supplied both an assist and a goal, the former one of the cutest through balls you’ll see all season. The latter made it 3-0 and really took the contest away from the hosts.

Mahrez led the clash in chances created (three), while his three successful dribbles underlined why he’s firmly one of the division’s top widemen.
