Julian Quinones after his hat-trick for Al Qadsiah at Al Okhdood

With Matchweek 23 in the books, we bring you the best performers in their respective positions for the round, using the Roshn Saudi League’s unique Performance Index.

The explainer is just below, while you can use the filter option to select the appropriate matchweek and also choose from a number of formations.

The Team of the Week below is pegged to our traditional 4-4-2.

--------

Milan Borjan - 93

A second clean sheet of the season proved incredibly timely as Al Riyadh took a massive step towards safety. The 2-0 win at Al Kholood represented their first RSL victory in 17 rounds (ironically against the same opponents) - a run dating back all the way to October. Borjan’s five saves were integral to his team breaking free of the drop zone.

--------

Waleed Al Ahmed - 95

Enjoying a season to remember, the Al Qadsiah defender retains his place in Team of the Week following another commanding display - this time in the 4-2 win at Al Okhdood. Al Ahmed led the game for successful passes (69), tackles (three) and total touches (87).

Moteb Al Mufarrij - 95

Although emerging on the losing side in the 3-2 home reverse to Al Fayha, the Saudi Arabian defender still delivered a fine display. Al Mufarrij posted a game-high 87 total touches and three chances created, while his 68 successful passes ranked second in the match.

Most importantly, though, he teed up Mohammed Al Dawsari’s equaliser that gave Al Taawoun hope.

Madallah Al Olayan - 94

The Al Ettifaq defender chipped in with arguably his most important contribution this campaign, his goal at the beginning of the second half ultimately the winner in the hosts’ 4-3 victory against Al Fateh. Al Olayan, never before on the scoresheet, was also equal-best in the match for fouls won (three).

Roger Ibanez - 94

The towering Al Ahli centre-back provided the platform for his team to move - temporarily - joint top of the RSL in the 4-1 triumph at home to Al Najmah. Ibanez finished joint-top in the game for total touches (67), while he led overall in successful dribbles percentage, completing all four attempted.

--------

Valentin Atangana - 93

One of the real emergent stars this season, the French youngster offered an all-action display, headlined by the equaliser after Al Najmah had taken a shock lead in Jeddah.

Atangana also made a game-high five interceptions, while no one won more than his two tackles. He concluded the contest with his first RSL Man of the Match award.

Salem Al Dawsari - 92

Another star making successive Best XIs, the ever-consistent Al Hilal captain guided the league leaders to a 1-1 draw in the Saudi Clasico against Al Ittihad. Salem created the assist for Malcom to open the scoring on five minutes, while he posted a game-high three shots on target.

Always an outlet, no one on the Al Hilal side made more than the reigning Asian Player of the Year's two successful dribbles or won more than his three tackles.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - 91

One third of the Al Hilal midfield making this week’s team, the classy Serbia international showed all his cunning by topping the encounter for lay-offs (seven). Milinkovic-Savic, so pivotal to Al Hilal’s title chances, ranked third in the Clasico for total touches, with 80.

Ruben Neves - 88

Speaking of total touches, when it comes to dictating team tempo, no one does it better than Al Hilal’s midfield maestro. That was on full display against Al Ittihad, where Neves was way out in front in that stat, with 130. For context, the next best was teammate Malcom (85).

Neves also led the way in successful passes (101), good long balls (seven), crosses (four) and chances created (four). He's just that good.

--------

Julian Quinones - 100

A third hat-trick of the campaign saw the prolific Al Qadsiah forward register full marks this week.

Quinones, chasing a first RSL golden boot, was the star of the victory at Al Okhdood, which not only kept alive his club’s title challenge, but maintained his push for top-scorer honours. The Mexican sits second in the 2025-26 charts, with 21 goals in 19 appearances.

Ivan Toney - 100

And the man he - and everyone else - is chasing is Al Ahli’s on-fire striker. Toney takes his place in Team of the Week for the successive round after hitting another hat-trick - his third of the season.

Even a first missed penalty didn’t derail him. Toney’s treble means he has 23 goals this term, matching his total haul from his debut campaign - that only Cristiano Ronaldo bettered in 2024-25.
