Super Sakala, King of Sudair Derby as Al Fayha win in style
You could see how much it meant to Fashion Sakala.
To everyone at Al Fayha and the club’s supporters, too.
The hosts in Al Majma’ah triumphed in the Roshn Saudi League’s first Sudair Derby in almost five years. Not only that, but they swept aside Al Faisaly, defeating their local rivals 4-1 at Al Majma’ah Sports City Stadium on Saturday night.
They’d even trailed 1-0, Abdulrahman Al Safari putting the visitors in front right on the half hour.
But then Al Fayha took over.
They were led, as is so often the case, by super Sakala. The hugely popular Zambian equalised just before half time, then assisted Jason for Al Fayha's third not long after Ziyad Al Shafai had put Fabio Carille's men ahead.
In injury-time, Sakala set up his side’s fourth, creating one for Hugo Moura to round off the night.
To wrap a decisive derby display.
At the final whistle, Sakala celebrated loudly in front of the Al Fayha fans. He embraced each and every one of his teammates. He joked with the coaching staff, even danced a little jig with one.
He, of course, flashed that trademark wide smile.
Soon collecting the Man of the Match award, a fourth of the 2026-27 RSL already, Sakala spelled out just how important a win it was - Al Fayha’s first in eight league matches and only their second in nine against Al Faisaly.
"We played very well," Sakala said. "The team did so much. We deserved to win this game - I'm very proud for the three points. This was the topic the whole week."
Regarding his equaliser, a left-footed rocket from the angle, Sakala said: "I’ve scored some great goals with my left foot; in fact, I think I’ve scored more with my left than with my right.
"I played more as an out-and-out striker in the second half. In the first half, I was playing on the wing. About 30 minutes in, the coach changed my role, moving me to the center-forward position.
"We exploited that well, By staying up front, I knew I’d only be marked by one defender - and I knew that would cause him a lot of trouble."
It did indeed. Al Fayha's star man had shone once more.
