Postecoglou lands first RSL award, Bono and Neves celebrated

Ange Postecoglou has marked his introduction to the Roshn Saudi League by picking up Manager of the Month for the first time.

The Al Nassr supremo, appointed this summer, has enjoyed a fine start to life in the Saudi Arabian top flight, guiding the RSL champions to four wins from their opening four games. As such, Al Nassr sit second in the early standings, level on points with Al Hilal at the summit.

Through their four victories, Postecoglou’s side have scored 12 times and conceded only three goals, with their incredible comeback at Al Ettifaq in Matchweek 3 the standout moment of the 2026-27 season so far.

Not to be outdone, though, rivals Al Hilal collected two awards, with Yassine Bono named Goalkeeper of the Month for August and Ruben Neves Player of the Month. Like Al Nassr, Al Hilal boast a 100 percent record through the opening four matchweeks, scoring a league-high 15 goals and conceding only three.

Both Bono and Neves have been integral to that, with Neves scoring twice and recording two assists as Al Hilal look to go one better than last season’s runner-up finish.

Completing the August awards, Al Kholood goalkeeper Hamed Al Shanqiti took home Young Player of the Month after excelling through his side’s superb start to the campaign.

Debuting in Matchweek 1, Al Shanqiti saved from the spot to earn his team a 1-1 draw at Al Ittihad - his parent club - part of an unbeaten run through the opening month of the season.

Last time out, Al Kholood defeated Al Ahli 3-1 to move fourth in the table.
