Ivan Toney scoops September award, Wissing and Bulka honoured

Al Ahli hotshot Ivan Toney has been named Roshn Saudi League Player of the Month for September after finding the net in all three of his side's matches.

The England striker scored against Al Riyadh, Al Qadsiah and Al Hazem to fire out in front in the early race for the RSL golden boot, taking his 2026-27 tally to 10.

Second in the scoring charts last season, Toney sits five ahead of his cloest challenger, NEOM Sports Club's Alexandre Lacazette.

The other side of Jeddah was celebrating too, though, with Al Ittihad’s Jens Wissing picking up Manager of the Month. The German, appointed only this summer, guided the 2024-25 champions to a perfect September, with three wins from three.

The standout result came at home, where Wissing’s side defeated Al Nassr 2–1 to inflict the defending champions' first loss of the season. Across their three victories, Al Ittihad scored seven goals and conceded only three times to remain the only undefeated team in the 2026-27 RSL.

NEOM SC also enjoyed a flawless month, with Polish stopper Marcin Bułka taking home Goalkeeper of the Month after helping the Tabuk club see off Al Khaleej, Al Hilal and Al Fateh.

Bułka kept clean sheets in the first two of those fixtures - he was Man of the Match in the win that halted Al Hilal's 47-match unbeaten run in the RSL - providing the platform for NEOM SC's three successive successes as they entered the international break fifth in the table.

Completing the September awards, Al Riyadh’s Essam Bahri was named Young Player of the Month.

The 21-year-old earned the trust of Brazilian head coach Mauricio Dulac, featuring in all three matches, against Al Ahli, Al Khaleej and Al Kholood. His contribution to the victory against the previously unbeaten Al Kholood was a particular highlight.
